Question
What issues can I talk to you about?
Answer
You’re welcome to talk about whatever is on your mind—whether it’s something specific like anxiety, low mood, grief, or relationship difficulties, or more general feelings such as overwhelm, disconnection, or uncertainty about where you’re headed. There’s no issue too big or too small. Counselling offers a space to make sense of things at your own pace, in a way that feels safe and supportive.
Question
What happens in the first session?
Answer
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s brought you to counselling and what you hope to get from the sessions. You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with I won’t ask you to share more than you feel ready to. It’s also a chance to ask questions and see whether it feels right for us to work together.
Question
How many sessions will I need?
Answer
There’s no set number of sessions—it really depends on what you need and what feels most helpful for you. Some people come for just a few sessions, while others choose longer-term support. Many find regular weekly or fortnightly sessions work best, but we can decide together what suits you. We’ll check in regularly to see how things are going, and you’re always free to pause or end counselling whenever you feel ready.
Question
Do you offer online or phone sessions?
Answer
I offer counselling by phone and secure video, in addition to face-to-face sessions. Remote options make support accessible from anywhere in the UK, giving you the flexibility to choose the format that feels most comfortable and convenient for you.
Question
Is what I say confidential?
Answer
Confidentiality is a fundamental part of the counselling relationship and is central to my professional practice. As a registered member of the BACP, I follow their ethical framework, which includes strict guidelines on maintaining your privacy. What you share with me stays between us. The only exceptions—such as if there is a risk of serious harm—will be clearly explained in our first session.

Question
What if I need to cancel a session?
Answer
Please contact me directly if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice. If less notice is given, the full session fee will apply, as I may not be able to offer the time to someone else.
Question
Do you offer counselling for children or young people?
Answer
Yes, I work with clients of all ages. If you’re seeking support for a child or young person, please get in touch, and we can discuss their needs to determine whether I’m the right fit to help.
