“Amanda helped me through a really difficult and tough time. She was so easy to talk to and the counselling really helped me in so many ways. She validated my feelings, she understood when others didn’t, she gave me practical coping strategies that worked and I felt properly listened to and respected. But I also loved how she tuned into my sense of humour and how laughing helped me, and I was comfortable enough to use humour about myself and my situation with her. It was so good to have a serious and respectful interaction but equally important to be able to have a laugh at times and this was easy with Amanda. I began to look forward to sessions as I got better and it felt like catching up with a friend but a friend with some sort of magical healing powers!!
